REQUEST FOR DATA FOR META-ANALYSIS

The Emotional Wellbeing Lab at the University of Western Australia is conducting a meta-analysis study on the association between Childhood Emotional Abuse and Adult Emotion Regulation (strategies and abilities). The study protocol is registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022343955).

Authors, scholars, and students who own any relevant (peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed) dataset, thesis, grant reports, ongoing studies, conference proceedings, or published papers on this subject matter are invited to share their findings with us. Appropriate citation will be applied to the datasets included to ensure the contributors’ intellectual property rights.

This meta-analysis is specifically interested in any unmanipulated/non-intervened zero-order associations between childhood emotional abuse and discrete emotion regulation constructs, including emotional awareness, emotional clarity, emotional understanding, impulse control (urgency), distress (in)tolerance, acceptance of emotions, reappraisal, suppression, distraction, experiential avoidance, behavioural avoidance, brooding rumination, and savouring (positive rumination). The zero-order associations of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional neglect with emotion regulation constructs are also sought to conduct meta-analytic moderation if they are obtained as covariates of the main variables of interest, as well as some demographic variable to characterize the sample and examine as moderators.
